Quarterly Update - June 2019

Rapley Consulting Engineers (RCE) has been in operation for 3 months, and we are very grateful to our clients for giving us the opportunity to work with you.


Our Current Projects


We are thrilled to begin working on some challenging projects, with new design teams, and we look forward to seeing these projects evolving into great places to work and live.


Pitt Street Office Upgrade - This project consists of the upgrade of an existing eight storey office building, consisting of two parts:


1) Upgrade of the base building mechanical services, including central plant upgrade, & BMCS upgrade. The upgraded building will be capable of achieving a 5 star NABERS over time, with further upgrade works.

2) Office fitout for the building owner occupier, who will occupy approximately 50% of the offfice space.


The key challenges for the project include the tight program, driven by our clients leasing commitments, and working within an occupied, operatinoal building. RCE has designed the upgrade works to incorporate the building's existing infrastructure, thereby minimising the need for disruptive works within the occupied & leased areas, leading to a faster build, reduced disruption, and a safer site.





Ashfield Residential Development - This project is a twelve level residential apartment building, incorporating three basement car parking levels.


The key challenges are integrating ventilation plant and smoke control systems within a very constrained building footprint. Our pro-active solutions will enable the Development Application to progress without delay.


Our Team


RCE is commited to providing the best quality and service to our cleints, and we pleased to have David Morris, partner up with RCE to manage and deliver Digital Engineering services on our projects.


David has more than 15 years of industry experience, and is passionate about harnessing the benefits of Building Information Modelling for the benefit of his projects. David has worked on numerous projects, including 1 Bligh Street, SYDNEY, Sydney Opera House, Nepean Hopsital, and GPT Shopping Centre, Wollongong.


We have also been working hard over the past three months to create a team that can deliver the same experience, and commitment across all building services engineering disciplines. We have made great progress towards this goal, and look forward to providing you an update on our offering in our next quarterly update.

RCE is moving! Rapley Consulting Engineers will be moving to our new address, Suite 1, Ground Floor, Enterprise 1, Innovation Campus, Squires Way, North Wollongong in the next few weeks.

Our Community


RCE made a submission to the Wollongong City Council Sustainability Strategy and Policy Review, advicating for the adoption of Environmental Upgrade Agreements (EUAs) in the Wollongong City Council area.


This initiative will enable the upgrade of legacy commercial buildings in the Wollongong CBD to ensure they remain viable and relevant for the 21st century.
